This week America and the LGBT community applauded the end of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' with its full repeal going into effect on September 20, 2011. Celebrations were held across the country marking the end to this discriminatory, anti-LGBT law. The media covered this significant milestone with touching, personal stories – such as an active duty member of the military getting married at midnight in Vermont and a soldier who called his father from overseas to come out to him. These stories highlighted the voices of the men and women impacted by this discrimination.
