Clare Kenny graduated from Skidmore College with an Honors Degree in Gender Studies in 2015. During her final year at Skidmore, Clare was awarded an Honors Thesis and nominated for the Beverly Field Women’s Studies Award for her work, “LAG-ing Behind: Miss Porter’s Girls’ Experiences with Sexuality Expression, Lesbian Stigma, and Identity Development.”
Clare also co-founded and launched Show Your Sport, a student-athlete activism program designed to create awareness, increase education, and enhance visibility for social issues through student-athlete led activism. Clare continues to direct Show Your Sport and serves as an advisor for the current student leaders.
Prior to joining GLAAD, Clare spent time in London, England creating an LGBTQ educational program for The Benenden School. She continues to work as an LGBTQ educational consultant for her beloved alma mater, Miss Porter’s School by creating workshops and generating funds for LGBTQ & ally programming for students, faculty, and alumni.
