Local Los Angeles LGBT groups are organizing LGBT contingents for upcoming Independence Day celebrations and urging folks to participate and leave a lasting impression on parade audiences, participants, and community leaders. Latino Equality Alliance and other LGBT and Latino organizations hope the advocates at these parades will help build greater solidarity between the LGBT and Latino communities.

The parade celebrating Mexico’s independence from Spain will take place Saturday, Sept. 10. The meeting point for the LGBT contingent will be on the Corner of N. Mednik & E. Cesar Chavez Ave in East Los Angeles at 10:30 a.m.  The Central American Independence Parade will take place on Sunday, Sept. 18, and the meeting point will be on the corner of Pico and Vermont Ave at 10:30 a.m.  Both parades start at 11:00 a.m.

To RSVP or for more information, email outreach@latinoequalityalliance.com or call (323) 423-9340.
