The GLAAD Wrap: French Love Crimes, New Racers, and American Horror’s Gay Couple
Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.
1) If you like your murder mysteries clad in sharp suits and French dialogue, you might want to check out the new thriller Love Crime opening in limited release this weekend. The film stars Kristin Scott Thomas and Ludivine Sangier in the very Damages-esque story of a young woman who's manipulated by her boss into a potentially deadly situation. Judging by the trailer, their relationship may not be strictly professional.
2) CBS announced the cast for season 19 of Emmy winning reality series The Amazing Race. The 11 teams will cover nearly 40,000 miles on 4 continents and visit countries such as Indonesia, Malawi, Belgium and Denmark. All this travel won’t be a problem for "team gay" this season, since Ron Zeitz and Bill Smith have plenty of mileage under their belt. The couple have been together for 13 years, and both men work as flight attendants. Watch as the teams depart from Southern California on September 25 at 8:00PM EST.
3) Ryan Murphy’s highly anticipated drama American Horror Story revolves around the sinister goings on in an LA home, whose previous owners were a gay couple that may have met unfortunate ends. Many ghosts are set to appear and while we do not know if the gay couple will appear in flashbacks or in ghost form, we do know that they will be played by Zachary Quinto of Heroes and Torchwood: Miracle Day's Teddy Sears. The couple is set to first appear in the show’s two-part Halloween episode.
4) Comics' first major gay superhero is about to have a permanent home again. Thanks to strong sales of their limited series, Canadian super team Alpha Flight will once again be featured in a monthly comic book from Marvel, and the super-speedy Northstar will play a major role.
