America's Next Top Model returns on September 14 with a cast of former contestants. The all-star cycle will feature fan favorites who will get a second chance at the title. Among them will be trans model Isis King (Cycle 11) and the openly lesbian Kayla Ferrel (Cycle 15).
Isis was a contestant on cycle 11 of the show and came in 10th place. Since then she has made several appearances on The Tyra Banks Show to discuss her transition, being "born in the wrong body" and the difficulties she faced growing up.
Kayla, who came out as lesbian early in cycle 15, made it to the top 4 and has been pretty busy since then. She has posed for many photographers and modeled for JM Couture, the Malachi Artese Wonderland Collection and Lipstick & Lollipops Fashion Rave.
The other returning contestants are: Shannon Stewart (Cycle 1), Camille McDonald (Cycle 2), Brittany Brower (Cycle 4), Lisa D’Amato (Cycle 5), Bre Scullark (Cycle 5), Bianca Golden (Cycle 9), Dominique Reighard (Cycle 10), Sheena Sakai (Cycle 11), Allison Harvard (Cycle 12), Laura Kirkpatrick (Cycle 13), Angelea Preston (Cycle 14), and Alexandria Everett (Cycle 16).
The All-Stars Cycle will start airing on September 14 on The CW. The returning contestants will be mentored by catwalk expert “Miss” J. Alexander and photo shoot director Jay Manuel. The panel of judges will continue to include Tyra Banks, out fashion editor André Leon Talley and photographer Nigel Barker. Guest judges on this cycle include Nicki Minaj, Kathy Griffin, LaToya Jackson, Ashlee Simpson, Kristin Cavallari, Coco Rocha, Anthony Zuiker and fashion photographer Nikos.
The CW recently received a score of "Good" in the 5th annual Network Responsibility Index for the inclusiveness of programs like America's Next Top Model. We're very pleased to see that trend continue and look forward to cheering on Kayla and Isis when the show returns this fall.
