More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.

With a vote on marriage equality legislation for New York possible today, all eyes are on Albany. Today New Yorkers United for Marriage, a coalition of LGBT advocacy groups working for marriage equality in the state, is planning a rally at in Albany at noon.
New Yorkers United for Marriage says their efforts will "make sure that all New Yorkers will soon be able to marry the person they love." The rally is scheduled to start at noon in Albany at the West Capitol Park, outside the State Capitol.
