Award-winning blogger and journalist Darian Aaron presents his literary debut, When Love Takes Over, the first coffee table book that profiles the lives and loves of gay African American men in committed relationships.
The book tells the stories of 18 couples from all over the country--giving visibility to often overlooked members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. It includes beautiful photographs and compelling first-person accounts of how they met their partners to getting married and starting a family.
“What a wonderful tribute in celebrating ‘us’ and showing ‘us’ what it looks like, and how it can be done!” says best-selling author Terrance Dean.
“Its focus of love transcends race and sexuality, people from all backgrounds can appreciate the book’s sincerity and storytelling,” BET journalist Clay Cane adds.
Aaron is the creator and editor of the blog Living Out Loud with Darian. His work has appeared in The Advocate, the Los Angeles Times, The Daily Voice, and CLIK Magazine. He resides in Atlanta, Ga.
