Bi Lines IV: A Night in NYC to Celebrate Bisexual Cultural Contributions

This Friday, May 27, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center in New York City will celebrate bisexual writers with an event called “Bi Lines IV: A Celebration of Bisexual Writing in Reading, Music & Culture.”

Bi Lines IV” will be the fourth annual celebration of bisexual contributions in writing and other areas, and will include book signings, live music, theater, stand-up comedy, and art. It is hosted by the Bi Writers Association, which was founded by bi writer and activist Sheela Lambert in 2006. Bi Lines is held every year the day after the 23rd Annual Lambda Literary Awards, which recognizes outstanding literature related to the LGBT community and is hosted by the Lambda Literary Foundation.

Guests at Bi Lines will include the winners, finalists, and nominees of the Bisexual Fiction and Nonfiction categories of the Lambda awards ceremony, as well as more than a dozen bi artists, three bi musicians, and performances by bi actors and comedians. Some of the confirmed authors are Cecilia Tan, the author of the short story collection Black Feathers; Daniel Allen Cox, the author of the novel Krakow Melt; Nora Olsen, the author of The End: Five Queer Kids Save the World; and five other Lambda Literary finalists and/or nominees.

Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10 to support the work of the LGBT Community Center, one of the largest support centers in the nation for LGBT people. Doors open Friday at 6:30 PM and the program begins at 7:00 PM. Come celebrate another exciting year of achievements, visibility and support for the bisexual community!
