More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon and fiancee Christine Marinoni just got an addition to the family in the form of son Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni. Marinoni gave birth to their son on February 7, delivering a new baby brother to Nixon's two children from a previous relationship.
Nixon and Marinoni have been together since 2004, and first announced their engagement at a 2009 Action=Marriage Equality rally in New York City. At the rally, Nixon made it clear that marriage equality was a personal issue for her because "We're hoping to do it in New York. We're not going to wait forever, but we're hoping it's just around the corner."
