More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
Logo Observes World AIDS Day with Classic Films and Exclusive Online Content
In recognition of World AIDS day, the LGBT-focused network Logo will offer exclusive online content and screen the classic films Love! Valour! Compassion! and Before Night Falls starting at 7am on Dec. 1.
Viewers tuning into the channel tomorrow will notice a red ribbon icon on the screen, directing them to 365gay.com for news and articles about HIV/AIDS, while the Logotv.com homepage will host a "Living with HIV/AIDS" video playlist throughout the day. Included on that playlist will be a series of new digisodes entitled "Share Your Story," which showcase interviews with HIV-positive people, hosted by former Project Runway contestant and openly HIV-positive designer Jack Mackenroth, as well as AIDS activist and BET star Alesha Renee. The digisodes were created on behalf of Merck Pharmaceuticals, and will drive viewers to the Healthy With HIV website. Additionally, new PSAs featuring Mackenroth and Renee will begin airing on Logo and their website.
And if you've never seen Love! Valour! Compassion! or Before Night Falls, be sure to set your Tivo for these canonical LGBT films. Check out their trailers below.
