Logo Goes Purple for Spirit Day
Logo, the first LGBT network is encouraging viewers to wear purple on Spirit Day. The cable channel will be sporting a purple ribbon in remembrance of the teens who have taken their own lives due to anti-LGBT bullying.
The network staff is also wearing purple and has taken part of the ‘It Gets Better’ campaign by posting a video to discuss their experience with bullying and letting LGBT youth know that they should focus on the wonderful life experiences they will have after high school. The videos are available on NewNowNext.com, Logo’s pop culture blog.
Logo has also traded its trademark pink on its twitter account by changing its profile and picture color to purple with the help a webpage GLAAD created for Spirit Day. The network tweeted to encourage its 20,000+ followers to wear purple today in celebration of the event.
