“The Six Pack,” an LGBT radio show and podcast created by Ben Harvey and Dave Rubin, celebrated its 50th episode last month and to commemorate the program’s success, Harvey and Rubin are taking the show on the road for their first U.S. tour.
“In just over a year, ‘The Six Pack’ has grown from an independent podcast to a full-on radio show and website with an international audience,” Harvey said. “We’re just two guys living in New York who are doing our best to decipher what it means to be gay in 2010. That resonates with a lot of people out there, including advertisers who have begun to see us as a new mouthpiece to the gay market.”
Harvey and Rubin will kick off the tour in California on September 13, stopping in San Diego and Los Angeles, and culminating with a poolside live taping of the show in San Francisco.
The program has featured several GLAAD Media Award-winning guests, including Joy Behar, Sandra Bernhard and Margaret Cho, as well as GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios. Additionally, Harvey and Rubin appeared on the red carpet press lines at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York as well as GLAAD Manhattan.
