(L-R) Daniel Sladek, Sigourney Weaver, Chris Taaffe and Damian Ganczewski accept the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Movie for Prayers for Bobby

Ever wonder how GLAAD selects the nominees for the GLAAD Media Awards? In order to choose the nominees with the most accurate and inclusive portrayals of the LGBT community,  GLAAD staff work with juries made up of media industry professionals to review submissions from print, film, TV and online media.

To give an exclusive sneak peak behind the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards, GLAAD partnered with Here Media. Watch as Rashad Robinson, Senior Director of Programs for GLAAD, discusses the selection process in part two of the ten part video series and check out some of the scenes from the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

And don't forget to check out nominees for the 2nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Advertising!

You can watch all the videos on The Advocate On Air.

At GLAAD, we believe that the Americans' views and support of our community starts here: with these images. We're asking supporters of the movement to make an optional tax-deductible donation to the The Buck Starts Here. As our way of saying thanks for participating, GLAAD is offering those who can donate $1 or more, a six-month GLAAD membership providing access to important updates, Calls to Action and special events.
