Electroclash band Le Tigre may no longer be together, but this candid, behind the scenes documentary gives a never before seen look at Le Tigre's final world tour. As a part of Outfest's Under the Stars film series, Le Tigre: On Tour follows band members Kathleen
Hanna, Johanna Fateman and JD Samson and celebrates the Le Tigre's ten year history of creating music that covers issues like feminism, left-wing politics, and LGBT culture.
The film will be screening tonight at 8:30 pm at:
The Ford Theatre
2580 Cahuenga Blvd East
Los Angeles, CA 90068
Formed in 1998, Le Tigre combined electric beats with the politics of feminism and the riot grrl movement. Le Tigre's DJ JD Samson, now a member of the openly queer band MEN, is an LGBT activist, has been featured in the groundbreaking LGBT-inclusive film Shortbus.
This riveting documentary is complete with tell-all interviews, backstage pranks, and of course, the band's dance-inducing music. Le Tigre: On Tour is evidence that the band will continue to remain an icon in the field of LGBT-inclusive music.
Presented in collaboration with Long Beach Gay & Lesbian Center of Greater Long Beach and Rock N Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles, this film combined with a unique outdoor screening venue is the perfect summer activity!
The film screening will be followed by an after party hosted by Flavorpill with a live performance by former band member JD Samson. Don't forget to bring your ticket stub for free access! The after party will take place at:
1822 Sunset Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90026
