More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.

NewFest, the New York Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Film Festival, kicked off its 2010 season this week in Manhattan. To celebrate, Way Out Productions President & CEO Joe Mode is continuing his ‘In the Mix’ event series at HK Lounge on June 8.
‘In the Mix’ will feature celebrity host Jesse Archer of Sex and the City fame, and special guests including DJ Scotty Thomson and Brittany Houston. GLAAD is a proud community partner for the ‘In the Mix’ tour.
Through its annual film festival and year-round programming, NewFest showcases international, US, and local filmmakers, fostering a greater sense of awareness and community among LGBT and LGBT-friendly audiences.
