There are just two days left to cast your vote in Crate & Barrel’s ‘Ultimate Wedding’ sweepstakes and a handful of same-sex couples continue to be strong contenders for the $100,000 prize. Washington, D.C. based couple Jonathan Howard and Gregory Jones are quickly gaining momentum in the contest as they near the 15,000 vote mark. Jones and Howard currently hold the #2 spot for most votes earned. (To vote for Jonathan and Gregory, click here) Jones and Howard were among the very first couples to apply for and receive a marriage license in the nation’s capital earlier this month. Now the couple hopes to celebrate in style with the wedding of their dreams: “We want a simple, but elegant affair at an outdoor vineyard in the D.C. area with our family and friends from across the country,” says Howard. “Our family and friends are very important to us and our dream day would not be complete unless we were surrounded by all of them.” Other same-sex couples performing strongly in the contest include ‘Mikey and Earl’, ‘Emily and Rachel’, and ‘Ed and Erwin’. Voting in the contest ends at 11:59 pm CST on March 31. GLAAD urges you to visit Crate & Barrel’s Ultimate Wedding Contest website and vote for your favorite same-sex couples. To vote, click here.
