The end of the TV season is so painful, isn't it? Tonight we bid adieu (for the summer) to Ugly Betty with a two-hour episode that promises to be filled with surprises. Rookie series Southland also goes away for a while. But it's not all bad news...So You Think You Can Dance is back!

In the two-hour season finale, Betty and Marc go head to head as they compete for the same job after the death of a Mode editor. But will Betty be able to keep her head on straight when her ex-flame Henry returns?

8:00 pm So You Think You Can Dance, Fox (2 hrs) SEASON PREMIERE
The fifth season of the dance competition kick off tonight as the judges scour the country for dancers looking to ride the Hot Tamale Train! The show often features out choreographer and Hairspray director Adam Shankman, among others.

10:00 pm The Fashion Show, Bravo (1 hr) NEW
Who needs the fashion reality series that dare not speak its name when you’ve got this gem on the horizon? Hosted by Isaac Mizrahi, this new designer challenge features a ton of gay talent. (Let’s just put it this way: all the guys are gay except for Markus.)

10:00 pm Southland, NBC (1 hr) SEASON FINALE
John Cooper is a tough veteran cop who has all the trademarks of your typical “older cop” TV character – and he’s gay. This is groundbreaking stuff, people.
