If you weren't excited about the Tonys before, you should be now! Fresh off his gig hosting the TV Land Awards comes word that Neil Patrick Harris will be serving as emcee for the 63rd Annual Tony Awards on June 7.
"The discipline of live theatre -- doing the same perfect thing night after night, eight times a week -- never ceases to amaze me," the How I Met Your Mother star said in a press release. "I'm truly honored to have been chosen as the Master of Ceremonies for this year's Tony Awards, and I hope to help provide a first-class evening for all."
Harris is no stranger to the stage, having won praise for his roles in Assassins, Cabaret, Proof, and Rent, so it's probably safe to assume that he'll be incorporating some memorable performances into the show. He also recently showed his talent at carrying a live show with a memorable turn hosting Saturday Night Live.
The show airs June at 8 pm on CBS. As we previously reported, Elton John's Billy Elliot is up for an incredible 15 Tony Awards.
