More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.

Three more days until National Coming Out Day! In recognition of the annual event, we're rolling out PSAs that encourage viewers to support the gay and transgender people in their lives. The spots are part of GLAAD's ongoing "Be an Ally & a Friend" PSA campaign.
Today's 20-second spot addresses the power of words and features a host of stars: Sara Ramirez (Grey's Anatomy), Alec Mapa (Ugly Betty), Rebecca Romijn (Ugly Betty), TR Knight (Grey's Anatomy), former NBA star John Amaechi and Rachel Griffiths (Brothers & Sisters).
