More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
"Laramie Project" Revisited
As the tenth anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death approaches, the creators of "The Laramie Project" have busied themselves working on an epilogue to update the production.
The Tectonic Theater Project, a NYC company, conducted interviews with 200 people in 1998 to formulate the original script, and is now re-interviewing people to reflect on what the passage of a decade has meant to the small Wyoming town. The epilogue will be added to the published version of the play, and will be incorporated into all future performances.
