More than 1,500 New Yorkers gathered today in Manhattan to mourn the death of a 32 year-old gay man, who was shot down on Friday just blocks away from the historic Stonewall Inn in an apparent act of anti-gay bias.
Hey D.C. - Two GLAAD Events This Weekend!
This weekend GLAAD has two great events planned for the Washington, D.C. area.
The first marks the launch of our popular Thank GLAAD It’s Friday (TGIF) series in the District of Columbia.
The second is for food lovers! It's called "Chef Invasion Washington, D.C." and will feature chef Patrice Olivon.

Chef Patrice Olivon is taking cooking to exciting and dramatic new levels. Currently the Culinary Program Director at L'Academie de Cuisine, he regularly cooks at the White House. He trained at the renowned Negresco Hotel with Michelin two-star Chef Jacques Maximin. After relocating to Washington, DC, Chef Patrice earned the title of Executive Chef at the French Embassy. In addition to appearing on The Next Food Network Starand Iron Chef America, Chef Patrice released “Table for 8,” a guide to “learn what the professional chefs know.” His long awaited television cooking series, Dinner is Served, is currently in development for PBS.
