Openly lesbian soccer player Natasha Kai(pictured) headed in the winning goal in extra time to give the United States a 2 – 1 win over Canada. Kai, a forward, is a fierce competitor and definitely an exciting player to watch. I encourage everyone to check out the U.S. women’s team as it takes on Japan Monday, Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. ET live on MSNBC, Universal HD and the NBC Olympic Soccer Channel.

Also, don’t forget about our amazing women’s softball team! They are still undefeated in their quest for gold. You can cheer on openly lesbiansVicky Galindo and Lauren Lappin this weekend as the U.S. takes on China-Taipei and the Netherlands. For exact times and where to view, visit NBC’s softball site.
